MY STORY

My name is Molly Oliver McGrath. I am the owner and wig stylist at The Wig Station. I have spent the past 20+ years working with wigs and hairpieces in the entertainment industry. After spending so many years working with actors, I wanted to redirect to my skills and expertise to a group of people that I felt could truly benefit from them. So, I decided to open The Wig Station to work with private individuals who are experiencing hair loss.

I am a midwest girl at heart. I am originally from Chicago which is why the Chicago star appears in the logo and throughout the website.  I also love the movie Steel Magnolias, which is why the term Beauty Technician is used as a nod to “Glamour Technician.”

I was first introduced to working with wigs at the Theatre School at Depaul University. I graduated with a BFA in Costume Design and built a career in wigs and makeup. I have been privileged to work and learn from some of the best wigmakers in the country. When I moved to Oregon, I was the Hair Supervisor of the Broadway touring company of Wicked, the Musical. While on tour, I was able to take leave of absences to go back to school to obtain my Oregon Hair License. After leaving the tour, I moved to Tigard. The past 5 years growing The Wig Station has been the most rewarding work experience because of all of the generous clients I have had the honor of working with.
